How We Designed the Official Bay Area World Cup Hat Collection
Jul 15, 2026
Behind the scenes of our collaboration with the Bay Area Host Committee celebrating FIFA World Cup 26™ and the Bay Area's unmistakable identity.
When the Bay Area Host Committee approached Tommy Breeze to create a limited-edition collection celebrating the arrival of FIFA World Cup 26™ and Super Bowl LX, we knew this project had to be more than just another hat.
It had to tell the story of the Bay Area.
For us, every patch starts the same way—with a blank sheet of paper.
Inspired by Home
The Bay Area is where Tommy Breeze was born. From the Golden Gate Bridge and coastal landscapes to towering redwoods and the communities that make Northern California special, this place has always influenced our artwork.
Our goal was to create a patch that captured that spirit while honoring one of the biggest sporting moments our region has ever hosted.
Every line, shape, and stitch was carefully considered to create something timeless—something that locals would be proud to wear long after the final whistle.
From Sketch to Stitch
Every Tommy Breeze patch begins as an original illustration.
Before anything reaches embroidery, Tommy spends hours sketching concepts by hand, refining shapes, simplifying details, and making sure every design translates beautifully into thread.
Once the artwork is finalized, we digitize the design and work closely with our embroidery partners to produce samples until every detail feels just right.
The result is a premium embroidered patch that reflects both the craftsmanship behind our brand and the identity of the Bay Area.
More Than Merchandise
This collaboration wasn't simply about creating a commemorative hat.
It was about giving fans something they could personalize and make their own.
Throughout the partnership, our team hosted live sewing activations where attendees could select patches and watch their hats be customized in real time. Seeing thousands of people connect with the artwork and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece made the project especially meaningful.
Those experiences are what inspire everything we do.
A Collaboration We're Proud Of
Working alongside the Bay Area Host Committee has been an incredible opportunity to celebrate the culture, creativity, and community that make this region unique.
We're grateful to have contributed to a project that welcomes the world while showcasing the place we call home.
